Indulgence by Irene: Quezo de Bola Cheesecake
When it comes to cakes, forgive me but I am always biased to chocolate-flavored ones, especially those which are beautifully coated with chocolate ganache. However, the reason behind this isn't exactly simple. It's not that I prefer chocolates over other sweets, 'cause honestly, I would pick cheese and even fruits over chocolates if you place all of them on the same table. It's just that, the perfect cheesecake for me is hard to get by.
I've had my fair share of cheesecakes, yet only a few impressed me. Most are either too sour or too sweet for my taste. There are also some which failed on the graham crust. However, I've recently come across one which fits the title of being a true blue cheesecake. It's the Quezo de Bola Cheesecake from Indulgence by Irene, an epitome of my kind of a perfect cheesecake -- soft, creamy and definitely very cheesy.
This Quezo de Bola Cheesecake from Indulgence by Irene is pretty straight-forward. No frills, no fancy gimmicks, just a simple-looking cake, yet it will delight your senses once you open the red box it comes with. While I'm more for the taste, I give props to this mini-cheesecake for being so aromatic. You'd really smell the goodness of quezo de bola even without sticking your nostrils too close to this lovely piece of heavenly creation.
As for the taste, it was just as beautiful. The cheesecake itself was very creamy with bits and pieces of the quezo de bola. The graham crust on the other hand, was buttery and made for a perfect cheesecake base. Every forkful was seriously an explosion of balance and harmony, sweet with hints of tang and just the right amount of saltiness. And if you're curious about how it looks, let's just say that not all cheesecakes are supposed to be smooth. The Quezo de Bola Cheesecake from Indulgence by Irene is denser than most cheesecakes and has lumps 'cause it has generous amounts of quezo de bola.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this new cheesecake discovery. I have read and heard a lot of good things about the Quezo de Bola Cheesecake from Indulgence by Irene (whose husband by the way, is one of my favorite food bloggers, Richard of Tales from the Tummy). But now, I can finally and personally attest to its heavenly goodness. While other cheesecakes can just capitalize on their good looks, this one can boast of its enticing aroma and great cheesy cheesecake flavor. It's indeed a true indulgence!

Quezo de Bola as a main ingredient for a cheese cake looks perfect and especially suited for the upcoming Christmas Season.
ReplyDeleteThat's very true! :) This Quezo de Bola Cheesecake is actually a perfect Christmas gift, or an addition to one's Noche Buena spread.
DeleteThanks for this Sumi. I love quezo de bola and as cheesecake the experience is taken to a new level.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! :)
DeleteWow, two of my favorites combined together: Quezo de bola and cheesecakes. I would definitely love this cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how tasty it can become (Quezo de Bola & Cream cheese) combined together because separately it tasted good already. I would really love to try this Quezo de Bola Cheesecake =)
ReplyDeleteNow this is something I would like to try. I LOVE Quezo de Bola and it's one of the things I look forward to every Christmas. I like the grainy texture and the taste. Putting that in a cheesecake is an absolutely brilliant idea! :D Ooh they do pick - ups in Ortigas! perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteGo order one Mich! :) I'm sure you'll love this.
DeleteI love cheesecake. This Quezo de Bola variety is worth trying, I think. That's something which is good to give as a gift too.
ReplyDeleteThis is really something new to us, as a foodie couple with sweet tooth we'll surely try this one if ever we visit Philippines.
ReplyDeleteKESO DE BOLA or QUESO DE BOLA or whatever they called it. I super love it! Hahahaha...I remember when my Lolo was still alive we are both fond of eating KESO DE BOLA and we hide it in our secret cabinet. By Christmas time all of the KESO are gone but ours are still intact. Nice to read your blog sis, fond memory with my Lolo and with the Keso. A must try QUESO DE BOLA of Irene. Hope we have this product here in Davao.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Raine. Quezo de Bola can really bring up a lot of memories. I also have my fair share, but it's with me and my little sis.. :)
DeleteMy goodness!!! This cake is sooooo yummy looking though I'm not a lover of Queso De Bola... I would love to try this one.
ReplyDeleteI am not very fond of keso de bola but this one in cheesecake form is quite tempting.
ReplyDeletePerfect for Thanksgiving! And for us Filipinos, perfect for Christmas and New Year's Eve celebration.
ReplyDeleteI havent tried a quezo de bola cake.. Though Im really not into quezo de bolas. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try this cheesecake! Not a fan, but would love a piece!
ReplyDeleteI love cheesecake but I haven't tried one with queso de bola. This is really perfect for this holiday season.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I ordered a bigger one.hehe. :)

Why is it that I have never acquired a love for Quezo de Bola? You know, when I was a child, we would have different sorts of it, there would be those that would even come from Saudi Arabia, and it will be the only food that would be left after the season of good eating, hahaha, and would stay for a couple of more months.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, and long, long years have past, I might find thid to be intriguingly appetizing! Will try one, maybe.
Don't worry, we all have different preferences and biases when it comes to food ;)
Deletewow! i suddenly want to eat cheesecake at this very moment... this one's looks delicious and mouth watering. and yes! this one's perfect for christmas...
ReplyDeleteow, queso de bola cheese cake, this is new to me.I am used to Cream cheese cheese cake. This one looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThis is still made from cream cheese, mommy Tess. It just has quezo de bola added in to make it cheesier and more awesome! ;)
DeleteThat's very ideal gift this Christmas season. Something very special.
ReplyDeleteThis sure is a must-try. I've begun to love cheesecakes but had to content myself with frozen ones here. :(
ReplyDeleteawww that is a real temptation ... I was indulged in reading your descriptions :-) Like you, I prefer cheesecake ... over creamy chocolate covered cakes. I wish to try that when I visit Pinas next year <3
ReplyDeleteIndulgence galore, indeed! I can imagine the taste just by looking at the photo and the price is reasonable. I'm tempted :D
ReplyDeleteIndulgence is a very appropriate name to this cheesecake as I see in your pics that the graham crust is very thick and so is the cheesecake part. Would love to try this and since its made with Quezo de Bola, it must taste terrific. Hhmmmmm!!
ReplyDeleteI hope to win that Quezo de bola cake from Indulgence Irene giveaway:)) 10 days to go before announce the winner! I wanna try that one XD
ReplyDeleteI just love cheesecakes! Guess this is a must-try- a little bit of sweet and salty in one!
ReplyDeleteMukhang masaraap talaga, is this all year round or just during christmas/newyear?
ReplyDeleteLooks good pero parang soft. Is it soft?
ReplyDeleteNever thought that quezo de bola would be a must try ingredient in a cheese cake. I mean it is cheese, it only has that after sour taste, i think, but making it into a cheese cake would make it actually perfect! :)
ReplyDeletepwede pla ang quezo de bola as a cheesecake... I want to try one since I'm a cheesecake addict. ;)
ReplyDeletesana magkaron sila ng shop where this can be readily available :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of cheesecakes! Hopefully I'll be able to try this soon! :)
