My First Tsoko Nut Batirol Delivery Experience

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Although I expected October to be a cold month, I wasn’t prepared for the typhoon Ofel. Actually, despite not being a homebody, I decided to spend that particular week at home for safety reasons. Of course, it’s inevitable to crave for something hot and comforting at times like this. And although rains were still a little heavy that day, I decided to try and order from Tsoko Nut Batirol thru TwoAnyOne which was formerly Quick Delivery.
Tsokonut Batirol

I seriously didn’t expect they’d take in my order since it was continuously raining that day. But just like my first time to call up TwoAnyOne’s hotline, the agent was friendly, courteous and prompt with taking in my orders. Since TwoAnyOne still doesn’t cover our area in Malabon City, we agreed that I meet up with the rider at Sangandaan, Caloocan City just like my first experience with their delivery service. And since the orders will be coming in from Cubao, and it was raining that day, I was told that it might take up to 90 minutes of transit time which I honestly didn’t have a problem with. I appreciate honesty and overestimation even, rather than false promises of 30 to 45 minutes of delivery time.

Unlike my first experience with TwoAnyOne where it took them less than the promised 1 hour of delivery, this time, they really used up the 90 minutes before I got a call from one of their agents. I then hurriedly went to the meet-up point to not make the rider wait for too long, and in no time, got our orders which seemed securely packed and even warm since the rider kept it in a proper food delivery bag.

Tsokolate Ah Batirol with Pinipig Large P98 Tsokonut Batirol Tsokolate Ah

Since it was still cold and raining that evening, we first grabbed our hot beverages from Tsoko Nut Batirol. Of course, being of liquid nature, I already expected some spills, and was just glad that the spillage was kept to a minimum. My little sis and I both had the Large Tsokolate Ah Batirol with Pinipig (P98) which had the same rich, smooth and sweet blend of tsokolate like their plain one, but with a nice surprise of crispies. However, since the pinipig were soaked a little longer in the beverage, it already became quite soggy which I didn’t mind. It felt like we were having champorado in a cup which I very much dig. My mom on the other hand, had the Large Tsokolate Ah Batirol (P89) while dad got the Large Sugar-Free Tsokolate Ah Batirol (P92) which even came with two packs of Equal brand artificial sweetener.

Ensaymada with Quezo de Bola P56 and Napoleones P29 each

To pair with my hot drink, I had the Ensaymada with Quezo de Bola (P56) which was soft, fluffy and topped with the sweet and salty goodness of quezo de bola. My little sis and I also had a piece each of Napoleones (P29), a Bacolod puff pastry delicacy which went so perfectly with hot tsokolate. And since we were already too lazy to cook dinner that night, I also had the Palabok (P99) which had generous amount of toppings. Taste-wise, it was okay. However, there weren’t enough sauce to coat all the strands of the palabok rice noodles.

Aside from my orders, I also got a spoonful of my mom’s Suman sa Mangga (P75) which is drenched in rich and smooth hot tsokolate. While I’m not big on suman and other local rice cake delicacies, I really loved how this ensemble went well together. The ripe mango slices were sweet and blended well with the suman and surprisingly, with the hot tsokolate too. My dad on the other hand, had the Spaghetti Tuna Carbonara (P115). I wasn’t able to get a taste of his pasta dish, but he said it was okay. While I would’ve wanted the Creamy Pesto Malunggay with Shrimps (P115) for myself, I just gave it to my little sis ‘cause I already got to try it during my trip to Tsoko Nut Batirol Eastwood.

While the hot drinks came in paper cups with plastic covers, and stirrers, the food orders on the other hand, were packed in styrofoam containers. Some of you might raise your eyebrows if you’re pro eco-friendly packaging. However, I think I actually liked that the food came in styro containers this time as it was raining really hard that day and paper boxes might not hold up any better.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with our delivery experience with Tsoko Nut Batirol via TwoAnyOne. It wasn’t as fast as most fast food chains’ own delivery service, but given the circumstances –- farther distance of the restaurant outlet from the delivery destination, plus the heavy raining that day, I was impressed that we got our orders warm and with very minimum spillage (just with the hot drinks). And of course, I’m just happy that now there’s a way I can have comforting treats from Tsoko Nut Batirol without having to drive or commute all the way to Quezon City.

  7. Back when I was still working for Convergys, I was lucky enough to try this. They had a little spot at our main pantry.. sure it was a bit expensive but it was actually pretty good. If i was fed up with our vending machine that dispenses free coffee. . i would occasionally sneak a couple of minutes just to buy this. Aaah.. . i miss. :(
