Kumori Japanese Bakery: Toyohashi Pudding in 3 Yummy Flavors

Japanese breads and pastries have always been a weakness of mine, despite my futile attempts to cut back on carbs. And though I don't want to point any fingers, Kumori Japanese Bakery is more or less one of the reasons. Haha! After attacking my weak mind with their heavenly Hanjuku Cheesecake, they did it again... Now with the Toyohashi Pudding.

Kumori Toyohashi Pudding in Original, Green Tea and Chocolate

This Kumori signature product, the Toyohashi Pudding, is a smooth, creamy and velvety baked custard cream dessert named after its city of origin -- Toyohashi, Nagoya. And while I haven't been to Toyohashi yet (nor to any parts of Japan), just the mere taste of this Kumori treat was enough to get me intrigued of what else the city of Toyohashi has to offer.

But for the meantime, the Toyohashi Pudding would suffice. With three flavors to choose from -- Original, Green Tea, and Chocolate, all made from farm fresh eggs and premium buttermilk cream, I'm all good! ☆⌒(*^-°)v

The basic of the three, the Toyohashi Pudding Original (P98), is a soft, sweet and creamy custard entwined with caramel. Although this is of Japanese origin, it reminded me of one of my favorite local desserts, the leche flan. Every teaspoonful of this pudding is a treat to the taste buds. However, I personally find the amount of caramel a bit too much for my liking.

As a matcha lover, the Toyohashi Pudding Green Tea (P98) is right up my alley! Smooth, creamy, and with delicate matcha goodness, every teaspoonful of this variant made me smile from ear to ear. The green tea flavor might be a little faint, but I think this has a good matcha to cream ratio especially for those who are new to, or are not serious fanatics of matcha.

The Toyohashi Pudding Chocolate (P98) is also a surprisingly strong contender! Rich and luscious, this variant had me oohing and ahhing with every bittersweet chocolatey mouthful. As expected of a Japanese bakery, the chocolate custard has just the right amount of sweetness. Not too cloying, and will make you want more and more, and more and more...

Every one of the Toyohashi Pudding flavors was great and is sure to satisfy the sweet-tooth! But if I have to choose my favorite, then I guess it's a tie between the Green Tea and the Chocolate, with the Original closing in on 2nd place. ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

Overall, these are nice not-so-sweet treats perfect as gifts to yourself or to friends and family. With cute packaging, substantial amount of product, and reasonable pricing for the quality, Kumori's Toyohashi Pudding is sure to be a staple in my fridge! (๑ゝڡ◕๑)v
