If you've seen me more than enough, you'd know that I don't normally wear nail polishes. And no, it's not because I'm not interested nor is it because of my laziness. Actually, when I was younger, I loved playing with nail polish colors. However, more often than not, my nails would be left dry and yellowish. This is the main reason why I wear colors on my tips less frequent than I'd want to. Not until I came across Girlstuff Nail Polishes.
- They do not contain any of these harmful chemicals:
- Formaldehyde, a chemical compound that leave nails dry and yellowish
- Toluene, a toxic solvent that can affect body systems
- Di-butylphthalate, a cosmetic additive banned in the United States
- The nail polishes are streak-free and dries quickly.
- They're pretty affordable considering they're imported from France, and even boast of quality at par with more well-known but expensive nail polish brands.
Aside from the good qualities of the product itself, I love that Girlstuff Nail Polishes can be easily found in malls. I went to their SM North EDSA kiosk where I was greeted by their wide array of nice polish colors. The staff were also friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. They really know what they're selling, so this is a big, big plus!
My Girlstuff Nail Polishes
Now, let me share the nail polishes I have. There are some from their swatches that I oh-so-love but got sold out before I came. Nevertheless, I loved every one that I got.
This is probably my most favorite polish from the lot, and one which I consider my default nail polish color. It's a pinkish nude shade with silver particles. Really pretty and even complements my skin tone. I'd usually put 2 to 3 coats though to make it more opaque.
I usually stay away from bright colors, but I found this daffodil yellow shade really pretty and happy without looking too striking and over-the-top. It also didn't make my skin look darker, although I was expecting it to. It applies well, although it needs building up.

Since I've started to like green shades, I also picked up this green polish with gold glitter particles from their Holiday Collection, in place of the Avo Loco shade which was sold out. I love that it looks more yellow-green than just straight-up green when hit by the light.
Aside from offering the usual nail polishes, Girlstuff has something first-of-its-kind that I have ever came across with. They're the Magnetic Nail Polishes which come with a magnet pattern maker -- available in parallel (which I call stripe) or spiral.
|Ice Queen Magnetic Nail Polish (P249.75)|
I picked up a bluish metallic silver polish with blue glittery particles. When worn just as painted, it looked like a cool futuristic color. When used with the magnet though, some parts of it become slightly darker while the stripes remain the same lighter shade.
Of course, being The Purple Doll, I didn't miss out on the purple shade for the Magnetic Nail Polishes. It's an almost-metallic true purple color with blue and purple glittery particles. This is another favorite of mine, although I typically use this for my toenails.
|Vixen Magnetic Nail Polish (P249.75)|
As for its magnetic feature, mine came with a spiral magnet pattern maker. Although I loved the stripes, I seemed to have problems using the spiral. I can't make the design as prominent as I would've wanted. I think I'll just use the stripes for this shade too.
Another thing I love about Girlstuff is they offer Washable Nail Polishes. Yup! These are polishes very safe for kikay little girls. Just wash this off with water and soap, and they'll be gone. So cool, no? How I wish I have young girl cousins or nieces.
